It’s hard to imagine a more romantic setting for a kaiseki dinner than Shanghai’s Omakase restaurant – and the dramatic lighting plays a big part in creating the atmosphere. The design was inspired by “sakura rain” which describes the phenomenon of cherry blossom petals falling gently to the ground. To recreate this uniquely Japanese experience, the designer has used pink, semi-transparent partitions and illuminated floors, decorated with flowers and dewdrop motifs.
