A tired traditional village house, made of timber and mud walls, has been transformed into a capsule hostel that can accommodate 20 people and a community bookstore and library. The architect retained as much of the original structure as possible, including the exposed wooden ceilings, as well as using local materials such as bamboo for the bookshelves. An entire wall was replaced with transparent polycarbonate panels to create a sense of oneness with the surrounding forest.
