A former blanket factory has been transformed into an exhibition hall and community art centre through this sensitive urban renewal and renovation project. As one of many textile factories in Deqing County, the project pays homage to China’s long tradition as a textile producer, retaining historical elements while creating modern, diversified functional spaces. The Art Center, cum library, encourages local youth to learn, read and communicate, while the exhibition hall is mainly used for display, promoting the history and cultural development of Leidian textile industry.
