Striking a balance between calmness and stimulation was how leading Hong Kong design studio Bean Buro delivered on a challenging brief to create a retail academy in bustling Tsim Sha Tsui for one of the world’s leading luxury goods brands.
For 19 years, PERSPECTIVE has shined a light on the most important news and developments in the world of Architecture and Interior Design within Greater China, Asia and beyond.
PERSPECTIVE has also created and delivered the industry’s leading awards programs in Asia: the A&D Awards and the 40 Under 40 Awards. The A&D Awards celebrate the best and most innovative projects by local and overseas practices, as assessed by an international panel of judges, while the 40 Under 40 Awards recognise 40 of the industry’s most talented young professionals.
A&D Awards 2022 are now open for entries. First, click on the AWARD CATEGORIES tab to learn how and what to enter, the eligibility requirements and the entry fees. Click on the individual category that most suits your project and discover how to complete the entry form. You can also download the Awards Handbook which will answer any question you might have about the Awards. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be ready to enter your submissions.
The closing deadline for entries is June 30, so there’s no time to lose!
Close of Entries
Lonely Planet describes Chueca, the funky neighbourhood of central Madrid, as “extravagantly gay, lively, young and always inclusive”. The same could be said about one of Hong Kong’s hippest new eateries named after the Spanish precinct and designed by the equally cool studio Design East.
Designers are increasingly being asked by clients to create more flexible office environments – and now one of Hong Kong’s leading practices, Benoy, has tackled the task for its own studio. The result is a stunning new workplace in Causeway Bay, which could well be a blueprint for more agile office solutions.
The thing that impressed me was the youthful spirit. Young designers, young practitioners. You could feel the spirit and quality of their work. That’s encouraging.
Congratulations to the A&D Awards for celebrating excellence in architecture. I hope more professionals join in the coming years to make its impact even more far-reaching.
Thank you, A&D Awards. You’ve been an amazing support for our practice. Without you, I think we would not be where we are today.
The standard of entries was very high… I learnt a lot from them. I think they are an insight into Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
My advice is if you don’t enter you will not know how good or bad you are. So enter and share your projects on a great platform of design.
I’ve seen some really good projects and outside the box concepts, so I can’t wait to see more interesting work next year.
I think the projects are of really high caliber, and the awards are an endorsement of the quality of design. I think everyone should support them.
