BHA Sees International Expansion

Founded in Hong Kong more than two decades ago, BARRIE HO Architecture Interiors (BHA) has built a strong reputation for innovative architecture and design both in Asia and now beyond. Alongside BHA’s architectural achievements – including multiple Perspective’s A&D Awards – they have demonstrated a longstanding commitment to supporting emerging talent through sponsorship of perspective’s 40 Under 40 Awards and the Barrie Ho Traveling Scholarship at the University of Hong’s Faculty of Architecture.

BHA has been experimenting and exploring the Architectural Design in Hong Kong, China and Asia for two decades. During this time a wide spectrum of architectural experiments including large scale Incubation architecture in the Greater Bay Area and along the One Belt One Road region

After the celebration of 20th Anniversary in 2019, the decision to expand for an even wider design spectrum was nurtured for different cultural regions.

This expansion has seen the opening of BHA London and BHA Sydney offices focussing on experimenting a different design culture, opportunities in different contexts. BHA London is dealing with urban projects with community engagement as well as ‘flipping’ concepts for residential design upgrading. BHA Sydney is a paradigm shift to a Developer’s role from investment of land to new residential developments and revitalization of old structures.

The Urban Rhizome for Mixed-Use Development at Bromley North, London is an experiment of developing 3 major elements of Co-Work Office, Community Block and Service Apartments above a major Bus Terminal and by the side of a Historic Monument of Train Station.

The design manifestation is an attempt to creating an Urban Park above the existing Bus Terminal whilst the Urban Park is well equipped with Greenery, Urban Sculptures, Audio-Visual Installation, Squares and Water Features accompanying by Pubs, Cafeteria and Restaurants. The Co-Work Office Block thus is interlocking with the Modern{Pub} Block with Community Facilities linked to the Service Apartment Block.

The Linear Development of connecting 3 blocks of functions skillfully above an Urban Park with a transfer structural deck sheltering the Bus Terminal are all conceived as an Urban Rhizome with great sensitivity of environmental creativity.
