Design Philosophy:

In my view, the meaning of space often arises from subtle points, extends through flowing lines, and converges within layered planes to form a coherent story. I approach design through the lenses of cultural context, material logic, and human experience—exploring how architecture can carry memory and emotion through the passage of time. My practice emphasizes clarity of form and harmony with the surrounding ecology, allowing architecture to breathe naturally within its environment.

From the Art Omi Museum, where I used space as a narrative medium through light, path, and scale, to the Iceland Volcano Visitor Center, where form and landscape intertwine, I strive to create works in which structure, material, and nature coexist seamlessly. My pursuit of simplicity and sensitivity in spatial expression has been recognized by international honors including the Loop Design, Muse, London Design, and the A’ Design Award Exhibition.

As a participant in the UNESCO Cultural Heritage and Peace Summit, I focus on integrating sustainability, fluidity, and cultural storytelling into spatial practice. Across projects such as the Los Angeles County General Hospital Master Plan, the Claremont McKenna College Technology Campus, and the CSU Long Beach Student Housing, I continue to explore design’s social responsibility and public value. My ongoing research engages with social and cross-regional contexts—from rural revitalization to post-disaster reconstruction—using design as a medium to respond to real-world conflicts and ecological challenges.

I believe that meaningful design must balance function and perception, reality and ideal, allowing space to become both a vessel of time and a field of emotional resonance—a quiet yet powerful dialogue between human life and the natural world.
I hope to be among the 40 Under 40 winners not only as recognition of this pursuit, but as a voice for a generation of designers who build with empathy, imagination, and a deep sense of cultural continuity.
