Design Philosophy:

My passion for construction was born at the age of twelve in Ireland when I started working side by side with my father, a master stonemason. Together, we shaped stone and marble into works of precision and beauty, including international commissions. Those early years instilled in me a deep respect for craft, structure, and the tactile poetry of materials. That foundation inspired me to study architecture, where I graduated as valedictorian, and set me on an international path that continues to shape my design ethos today.

My journey led me to Rotterdam, where I worked at Rem Koolhaas’s OMA. By twenty-two, I became one of the lead designers of Prada’s architectural ventures, including the Prada Transformer and Milan’s Fondazione Prada. Collaborating closely with Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli taught me to merge function with luxury, clarity with emotion, a principle that remains central to my approach.

Relocating to Hong Kong, I guided the design and construction of the 100,000m² Prince Plaza building in Shenzhen before founding ALT Design & Construction at twenty-eight. Since then, our team has completed over sixty bespoke villas, hospitality spaces, and lifestyle projects across Asia.

My professors thought of me as a Constructivist, a label that fits my philosophy well. Rooted in geometry, materiality, and structural expression, my work seeks to fuse art, engineering, and human experience. At ALT, this philosophy has evolved into a guiding rule: “Simple and Striking”, designs that are purposeful yet poetic, functional yet beautiful. It’s a lesson first learned in my father’s workshop and refined in the ateliers of Prada, one that continues to guide every creation.
