Mike Choy, Director of 3mm Studio, accumulated over 15 years of experience in numerous renowned interior design practices located both in Hong Kong and London, excels in delivering bespoke interior design for a wide range of projects including luxurious residential, hospitality and commercial projects.
In his fifteen years of working experience, he has been given valuable opportunities to explore all kinds of design directions and collaborated with designers from around the world. He had acquired from these offices, the importance of having well-developed sophisticated system and profession ethics to deliver the best quality of services to his clients.
Prior to establishing his own studio, he worked at Twenty 2 degrees design partnership as a Senior Interior Designer in London and Hirsch Bedner Associates in Hong Kong, leading his team to carry out design to construction package for numerous projects, namely Intercontinental Hotel at Lisbon, Four Points by Sheraton and Westin Hotel & Residences at Abuja, Solaire Casino, Shangri-La hotel and Intercontinental Hotel.
Amongst all the exposure of design direction, Mike had been deeply inspired by an eclectic range of architects and designers, including Carlo Scarpa, Paul Dupre-Lafon and Jacques Adnet, who all works down to each details and has become 3mm Studio’s ethos. He believes that the essence of a space working down to each detail is crucial to enlighten each space.
Mike also believes that a sensible designer shall also bear a strong sense of awareness and alertness to how the design is being communicated to the client, contractor and collaborator. A success of a design shall be a celebration of all the effort and expertise injected to the project and by only this way can the design industry of Hong Kong can be uplifted together.
