Design Philosophy:
Architecture photography isn’t only an aesthetic pursuit, but at the forefront of representing the culture and humanistic spirit of a city and its people. The decision to include which architectural detail and perspective in an architecture photograph could dictate viewers’ perceived narrative, function and meaning of the space even before their visit. My design philosophy focuses on using geometric composition, light & shadow and human-architecture interaction in architecture photography to effectively amplify the architecture’s visual identity and sociocultural significance, and tell relatable human stories through my lens.
Nine years into the career as photographer and content creator with over 50,000 following, I have incessantly supported clients from architecture and design, and property development related sectors with premium images for branding, marketing and business development purposes. Aesthetic instincts, market observations and story-telling capabilities from my extensive social media experience allowed me to innovatively portray architecture for greater global exposure and appreciation, in addition to traditional commissions. Unconventional, precise compositions and interplay with light and humans have earned the confidence of numerous clients to use my work for commemorating their international accolades in the industry.
Being the first Hong Kong grown and based photographer to claim victory in the internationally prestigious Architecture Photography Awards (2025) and in two major open categories, it’s my greatest honour to bring architecture photography from this compact city to global recognition. Becoming a 40 Under 40 Award winner will extend this personal achievement into a vision of translating Hong Kong’s own architectural photography into a more recognised and accessible means of visually representing this city for the industry, especially where digital impressions and engagement are becoming more impactful in this technology driven future. I hope my story could inspire future generations in the architecture and design industry to keep creating and believing that your efforts could be seen.
