Announcing the A&D Awards 2020 shortlist

The 96 projects shortlisted in A&D Awards 2020 have been announced and are now available to view here on the A&D Awards website.

The projects – which are still in the running to win a coveted A&D Gold Award – were chosen by our international panel of judges from a total of just over 300 submissions from practices throughout Greater China and beyond.

Just over 30 projects were shortlisted in the Architecture and Future Developments categories, while a further 65 were shortlisted in the Interior Design and Innovation & Technology categories.

Our specialist Judges scored all submissions against a specific set of criteria relevant to the category. Considerations included creativity, functionality, aesthetics and sustainability, as well as the extent to which the project delivered on the client brief.

London-based architecture judge Cecilia Ho, director of Design Haus Liberty, reflected the views of many of her fellow jurists when she highlighted the quality of this year’s entries. “There have been a lot of impressive submissions, particularly projects that managed to deliver a harmonious mix of contemporary design with local heritage.”

The shortlisted entries are facing a second round of scrutiny by the judges before being ranked against other work shortlisted in their subcategory.

The more rigorous, two-tier judging system was adopted this year to ensure that only the very best projects go on to win a Gold, Silver or Bronze A&D Award. The final results will be announced here on the A&D Awards website early next month.
