John Chow

Australian architect John Chow is the founder and creative lead of the award-winning Hong Kong-based studio, Metagram. Since the practice’s establishment in 2017, Metagram has built a reputation for delivering a spectrum of unique, concept-centred designs across various sectors, including hospitality, workplace, retail and residential.

With 16 years of industry experience spanning the Asia-Pacific region, John is known for his first-principles design approach and intense attention to detail. He is a Registered Architect in Australia and draws on his diverse background to create architecturally dynamic and often stand-alone spatial experiences.

In 2023, John was the recipient of the Australian Institute of Architects International Chapter Emerging Architect Prize, and in 2022 was a laureate of PERSPECTIVE’s 40 Under 40 Awards. He currently serves as a councillor for the RAIA International Chapter and was Co-Chair of the 2022 RAIA International Chapter Architecture Awards Jury.
