Dear Members of the Award Committee,
First and foremost I sincerely appreciate this opportunity to be considered as an A&D 40 Under 40 Awards 2023 candidate. My name is Mr. Alan Yuan Wang, an Australian registered architect with 15 years of invaluable international experience in Asia. Currently, as a co-founder of EVA Architects based in Shanghai & Hong Kong.
My journey in the professional architectural field began in Sydney Australia. I was working for award-winning firm PTW Architects. By working alongside some greatest mentors in the firm, they have taught me an insight into the industry and shone the way my career possibilities. During that time, I also had the honor to participate in some of the landmark projects in Sydney which involved collaboration with world-renowned architects such as Atelier Jean Novel and Sir Norman Foster.
After returning to China in 2013, US firm Perkins & Will has provided me with an opportunity to demonstrate my leadership potential, as an associate of the firm and project manager throughout many civic projects and public works. Firmwide knowledge sharing is also part of my job. During this time, I have demonstrated a decent ability to bridge the gap between cultural diversity and architectural brilliance and manage to expand the firm further in education marketing in the Great China market.
In 2017, after 7 years of corporate working experience, I initiated EVA Architects. The vision of the firm is to be an innovative and client-orientated firm, serving the deepest needs of the client and bridging the gap between aesthetic needs and budget concerns. We believe architects can curate space and shape the lives of many. Especially with the project types that we have chosen to focus on, educational and lifecare. Each industry has a huge impact on a social level, and each project has the responsibility to reflect hope and the future. We feel rewarded and honored in the industry and continue our commitment to the field among peers. Especially during this uncertain period around the world. which makes our work more important than any other time.
We are always seeking challenges, and be awarded by the journey among others along the way. I hope my impact can be made in a greater way to the industry demonstrate commitment and faith, and make an exceptional candidate for this prestigious A&D 40 Under 40 Awards 2023 recognition.
