Having grown up in Hong Kong and received an education both in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, I have had the opportunity to experience both Chinese and English cultures. This has provided me with a unique perspective, and the combination of these two cultures has inspired me to constantly explore beyond what is immediately visible.
Throughout my journey of practising to become an architect, I have always maintained a mindset of humility and openness to new ideas. I view each new design, project, story, and environment as a unique opportunity to learn and grow. For me, design is a continuous process of learning and evolution, and I am constantly seeking new challenges to push my boundaries and expand my knowledge. I am hopeful that someday I can utilize my skills and knowledge to contribute to society.
There are two fundamental principles that guide my design approach. Firstly, every design must serve a purpose and provide a solution to a specific need or problem. Only then can it be truly appreciated by its users and audience. Secondly, design is not just about aesthetics; it should also be capable of creating lasting memories in the minds of those who experience it.
With extensive experience in various design fields, including architecture, interior design, exhibition design, exhibition curation, art installations, and branding, I have developed a strong ability to execute design and build projects in diverse locations such as Hong Kong, Malaysia, Italy, Australia, China, and the U.A.E. This has enabled me to become a well-rounded designer who is equally passionate about conceptual design and technical execution. Over the years, my work has received numerous international recognitions, a testament to my dedication and creativity. Receiving the honour of the 40 under 40 award would be a significant milestone in my career and life. It would signify the first half of my journey as a designer, a person, and a father. I am excited to continue pushing myself to new heights in the future.
