Design Philosophy:
I am an architect and photographer whose practice bridges design, observation, and storytelling. Architecture, for me, is about cultivating curiosity, surprise, and discovery—uncovering hidden narratives within places and translating them into form.
My fascination with space began through Studio Ghibli films like *Kiki’s Delivery Service* and *Whisper of the Heart*. What captivated me was not the stories themselves, but how these films revealed space—alleys, gardens, hidden rooms—through moments of gradual discovery. This sparked a lifelong curiosity about environments and the stories they hold.
Photography refined this observation into practice. In 2022, I founded Point Cloud Studio and was commissioned to photograph the Sai Kung Hoi Art Festival, exploring how art, landscape, and history intertwine within evolving site narratives.
This practice shapes my architectural approach. In my Young Architect Award proposal, I envisioned creative studios integrated into rural villages to foster interaction between residents, hikers, and designers. At Ronald Lu and Partners, I contributed to major civic projects—the New Territories East Cultural Centre and the Joint User Complex at Anderson Road Quarry—both extending cultural functions into connective public realms that invite discovery through everyday encounters.
Most recently, my exhibit “Stillness in time” in Harmony in Diversity-Connecting the Metropolis by In-Between” KL-NJ-HK Roving Architecture Exhibition , co-create with Jessica Kong, we reimagined Sheung Wan’s back alleys through immersive spatial reconstruction, revealing hidden urban layers and inviting visitors to rediscover the city through exploration itself.
My work consistently bridges architecture and photography to uncover and communicate the hidden stories of places. Through design, observation, and storytelling, I foster curiosity in both professional and public audiences. My projects demonstrate commitment to innovation, community engagement, and elevating everyday environments—shaping a more thoughtful and inclusive architectural discourse in Hong Kong and beyond.
