Design Philosophy:
At STHAPATI, we are focused on Conscious Built Narratives. In my role as the principal architect, I’ve always pushed a vision that is centered around pioneering research and innovative practices that contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable future for both the environment and the people. Adapting to the evolving requirements of our nation, and eventually, the global needs of the built environment is at the core of our philosophy, fueling innovation and development.
Our utilization of BIM extends far beyond the confines of mere work tools, reaching into the domains of engineering and design. It has become instrumental in our research, allowing us to explore a variety of projects and climates in places like Moscow and Rotterdam. We meticulously analyze these insights, refining and tailoring them to seamlessly integrate with the Indian context and climate.
My unwavering belief in ’Make in India’ extends to uplifting local artisan communities and nurturing the Indian design community. Through my work at STHAPATI, by designing and executing pivotal projects like the Ayodhya Airport, Jodhpur Airport, and Leh, our firm has not only set benchmarks but also established a blueprint for the growth of infrastructure in Indian cities. We have had the opportunity to showcase how Asian firms can employ cutting-edge technology to craft exceptional environments that resonate with the local context and urban fabric rather than merely imposing a layer upon it. This approach not only emphasizes our commitment to innovation but also speaks volumes about my aim to weave modernity with tradition in the most impactful and sustainable manner.
This was particularly prominent in the Leh Airport, enduring both sub-zero winters and the relentless desert sun. We researched, meticulously studied and drew inspiration from similarly cold airports globally, refining our innovative method that harnesses frozen water to generate geothermal energy. This pioneering approach propels us toward achieving carbon neutrality, marking a groundbreaking milestone in sustainable infrastructure within India.
