Design Philosophy:
Rose Tan is a registered landscape architect in both Hong Kong and Australia Graduated from the University of Hong Kong, Rose brings a wealth of experience to her role, having contributed to numerous notable projects across the Asia Pacific region. Her work emphasizes the intrinsic beauty of local landscapes, focusing on the harmonious relationship between nature, humans, and the environment. Renowned for her exceptional design capabilities, Rose views the role of a landscape architect as akin to that of a conductor, orchestrating the built environment to harmonize nature and humanity, science and beauty, delivering solutions that are functional, aesthetic, and sustainable.
In 2024, Rose was appointed Associate Director at Otherland, becoming the youngest member of the senior management team. In this role, she supports company management and leads teams to enhance design deliverables. She adeptly handles complex projects, manages client relationships, and oversees the overall development of the company.
Rose is also a council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects and serves as the chairperson of the F&E Committee, establishing herself as a leading figure in the field. She successfully hosted the institute’s 35th Anniversary annual dinner and design award ceremony, which was attended by over 200 guests and celebrities. Her competence and youthful vigor make her a significant presence in the industry.
In recognition of her contributions, Rose was nominated as a key figure for “Women in Architecture” during the 2024 International Women’s Day, highlighting her dedication and impact on the profession. Looking ahead, she will lead the Public Relations Committee for the International Federation of Landscape Architects conference in 2026. Her 40 Under 40 Award further underscores her influence and prominence as an important figure in the construction industry, celebrating women’s power for the young generation.
