Integrated Retail Designer:
As an Integrated Retail Designer who works in both Architecture and Interior Design, my design philosophy is all about creating spaces that not only look good but also improve people experience and driving the idea of human architecture. I believe that good design goes beyond aesthetics. It is an integration of spatial functionality, concept development, and strategic planning.
Forming Design Framework:
My responsibility in the company is to create design framework in the region. This involves layouts planning, concept development, and tailored solution generated for diverse retail projects. I set design and project development benchmark for the team to follow. By taking a comprehensive approach, I ensure that each project delivers a seamless user experience, contributing to the regeneration of retail spaces in cities through thoughtful design.
Nurturing Next Generation of Talents:
Nurturing the next generation of talents is another core tenet of my design philosophy. I actively engage with academic and institutes, collaborating closely with HKU SPACE to offer my insights and provide mentorship through talks and lectures. By sharing my experiences and knowledge, I aim to inspire aspiring designers to innovate and excel in their careers.
Non-Design Role:
In addition to my design expertise, I understand the importance of non-design roles in developing a holistic design of a project. With my experience in the company’s client stream and my participation in regional workshops across four studios, I recognize how crucial effective business management is for a successful design. This broad approach helps me to blend creativity with strategic thinking, ensuring my designs are visually appealing and also financially sound.
