Design Philosophy:
My design philosophy is centered on creating spaces that foster a profound connection between environments and the communities they serve. In projects like the East Hotel Lobby Renovation, I sought to redefine the traditional hotel lobby as a communal living room—a space where hotel guests and the local community can come together seamlessly. This transformation enhances inclusivity and connection, turning the lobby into a dynamic, multi-functional area that serves a variety of community needs.
Incorporating historical artwork throughout the lobby not only enriches the space aesthetically but also weaves in a deeper narrative rooted in the area’s heritage. This design choice infuses the hotel with a unique sense of place and cultural identity, engaging visitors on both an emotional and intellectual level. By drawing on the past, the East Hotel Lobby becomes more than just a welcoming environment; it becomes a space that tells a story and invites guests to be part of it.
This project epitomizes my commitment to creating purposeful, resonant spaces that combine functionality with historical and cultural context. Through my work, I strive to evoke emotions, tell meaningful stories, and create environments that bridge the past and present, connecting people in significant ways.
Across diverse projects, I’ve developed insights that span various design disciplines, allowing me to approach each initiative with a holistic and adaptable perspective. In an industry marked by constant evolution, I maintain an open-minded approach that embraces new ideas while remaining true to my core principles.
Winning a 40 Under 40 Award will enable me to further champion community-centered, contextually rich design. I aim to shape environments that inspire and leave a positive impact, driving innovation and inclusivity within the industry.
