Design Philosophy:

As the founder of TU by TU, a UK-registered architect, my design philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that architecture and design should enrich the human experience. I aim to create spaces that seamlessly blend functionality, beauty, and sustainability. My approach goes beyond mere aesthetics, focusing on how environments can evoke emotions, inspire creativity, and foster meaningful connections between people and their surroundings.

Throughout my career, I have practiced across London, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, each offering unique opportunities to merge cultural characteristics with innovative design solutions. As a former Lead Architect at Zaha Hadid Architects, I gained valuable experience in delivering large-scale, complex projects that pushed the boundaries of architectural innovation. Additionally, my contributions to the London Southwark Design Review Panel have helped elevate the quality of urban development, ensuring that design excellence is at the heart of community growth and revitalisation. My work has been recognised with multiple awards and featured in esteemed publications such as the Architects’ Journal and ArchDaily.

At TU by TU, we embrace a multidisciplinary approach that encompasses architecture, interiors, installations, and products to create holistic, human-centred environments. We prioritise crafting memorable experiences while embedding sustainability at every stage. Our latest project, Rhythm of the Dragon, is an installation located on High Island that serves as a testament to this ethos. Drawing inspiration from the High Island’s rich cultural heritage, the installation celebrates the harmony between the Hakka and Tanka communities. It dynamically adapts to tidal changes, with recycled plastic dragon scales moving gracefully in the wind. The design also features artwork co-created by local residents, reinforcing community involvement. Serving as both an artistic landmark and a vibrant performance space, the installation strengthens cultural connections and fosters community engagement.
