Design Philosophy:

Architect is the curator of life, architecture is the canvas for creation, shaper of lives. At the conjunction of public and private, habits are curated by the architectural form. My practice is rooted in my belief in the transformative power of design.

I believe institutional architecture is the most effective medium for conveying the transformative ideas. This focus has been the driving force behind my practice and research. My designs have been featured in exhibitions both locally and internationally, including in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan, and I also curated the London Festival of Architecture - Hong Kong Exhibition.

The primary focus of my practice is theatrical architecture, where the magic of theatre and design often remains concealed behind the curtains. With extensive experience in designing three cultural centers and thirteen major performance venues, I am committed to examining and curating the intricacies of theatre design. As Hong Kong aspires to become an international cultural hub, my dedication to research and exposure to theatrical design seeks to amplify the voice of this field in our city. Professionally, I am certified as CCBC, CCBM, and NEC4 Project Manager. I advocate for the adoption of BIM practices and the collaborative approach in future construction projects.

Academically, I encourage my students to envision their future in the digital era, fostering an understanding of the evolving role of architects. I have invited international guests from the Esplanade Theatre in Singapore, and local experts in acoustics design of M+, to broaden students’ global and professional perspectives. I also had the opportunity to share my insights and delved into the fundamentals on theatre design during HKIA sharing sessions.

As a 40 Under 40 Award winner, I will continue to strive to widen the vision of the public and engage in the scope of the architectural design.
