Design Philosophy:
Mai has been embracing his personal and design philosophy of “always stay curious and become a better version of yourself everyday” throughout his 18-year of professional career, completely devoting himself to the design industry when he just turned 22.
Mai’s main role within SLD Group is to oversee hospitality and F&B projects located in Hong Kong and overseas, providing a remarkable contribution to the Group in terms of design quality, and constantly inspiring his talented multicultural team to dive in and experiment with new creative perspectives. Throughout the years, Mai had the privilege to work in high-profile international environs in Bangkok, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Singapore, and now Hong Kong: all these experiences helped him to gain a broader vision of the design profession, allowing him to also mature a profound understanding towards local contexts, cultures, and design languages.
Mai is a relentless advocate of top-quality work, always committed to deliver top-notch creative solutions able to meet clients’ strategic goals and aspirations; at the same time, he also aims at establishing a ground-breaking benchmark in the interiors’ discipline, in the insatiable quest of creating new lifestyle experiences for the final users through his design projects. Another important role for Mai is to groom and mentor young designers the best way he can, gently leading them to explore new creative dimensions and push further their own boundaries to not only achieve great design but also personal growth, satisfaction, and professional success.
Mai’s most recent signature projects include: HEXA and Club C+ in Hong Kong, The St. Regis Bar and The Londoner Hotel in Macao, Cubic Space+ in Zhuhai, Trump International Hotel and Residence Tower in Canada, The Address Dubai Creek Harbour in Dubai, renovation of Marina Bay Sands suites in Singapore, and HOA at Mandarin Oriental Saigon in Vietnam.
