Design Philosophy:

I am a design architect with over 15 years of multi-faceted experience in the industry. Currently an Associate Director of LWK+Partners, I have been in leading design roles in numerous high-profile and award-winning projects of a diverse spectrum, including mixed-use, retail, office, hotel, cultural, science & technology, educational and religious buildings throughout my career. My design portfolio includes important public projects in mainland China such as Zijing Paradise Walk and Chengdu IFS, and local projects such as Harbour Grand Hotel, Science & Technology Park Phase II, and Tsz Shan Monastery in Hong Kong. These buildings accommodate and enrich daily lives of people. Creating such buildings with considerations of aesthetics, convenience, comfort and sustainability for the enjoyment of general public is my design philosophy, and the architect’s basic role in the society. Throughout the years, I was awarded with the British Chevening Scholarship, the AIA Scholastic Award, Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarship, Providence Foundation Scholarship, the JH Kinoshita Prize, and also the Honourable Mention in the Hong Kong Institute of Architects - Young Architect’s Award 2018 for my design, research, social works and other contributions to the profession. Apart from a creator of architectural forms and spaces, I am also a practitioner in communal design, a strong believer in the education of design thinking and an advocate of sustainability. I have been a leader in community projects such as Art Fete Brings Hope and LightBe’s Light Community in Sham Tseng. I participated in various architectural exhibitions e.g. UABB HK, detour, Venice Biennale in order to bring architecture closer to people. Recently I am working on promoting recycled glass bricks as an innovative building material through various design competitions, public artworks and communal projects. I think these multi-dimensional works might put me among the 40 under 40 winners this year.
